No one is going to become a millionaire overnight and there are plenty of entrepreneurs who have suffered failures. If you fail the first time around then don’t just give up. Pick your self up dust yourself down and then start all over again. I believe that we never stop learning or growing and even the low points are important in one’s development.
Every journey has to start somewhere and businesses have to be nurtured and developed. It takes time and effort to build a successful company and don’t expect to make huge profits immediately. The main things to focus on is to make people aware of your brand and establishing a stable foothold in the market place for your brand.
Business is about making people have confidence in you. There is a very thin line between confidence and arrogance but everyone who is successful in life has to have their fair share of self-belief. If you don’t believe in yourself then how are you ever going to get other people to believe in what you are doing.
Keep your overhead costs to a minimum as much as you can. Of course being successful in business comes with its rewards but in the early days you should try and put back as much as you can into the business. Concentrate on the basics and try and avoid splashing out on expensive items that are not likely needed but maybe wanted. The first rule of business is to keep a sharp eye on profit margins and the bottom line so that your company could survive if and when the hard times come along as they inevitably do.
Have a bit of style and panache without standing out in a crowd for all of the wrong reasons. Business is all about selling yourself and people like someone who has a bit of character and a sense of style.
Understand what makes other people tick and what is important to them. If you do it will help greatly in sealing a deal or new piece of business. The other key here is, of course, delivering in a timely manner on your promises and keep that in mind because you may be relying on others to get to the final outcome.
The most IMPORTANT quality of all! You should wake up every day with a desire to do business and deals and be dedicated to your business. It is tough sometimes but it should never feel like a chore and you must have absolute belief in your business and your abilities. A wise man once said, “If you love what you do every day it will never feel like work”. Personal sacrifices are required if you want to be the best at anything but never compromise your family or your health because without both of those nothing else matters.
